Classified as one of the largest lagoons in the entire Island, the Peixinho Lagoon is located in the municipality of São Roque do Pico, in the central plateau area, near the Caiado and Rosada Lagoons.
It occupies a zone of depression between the several volcanic cones and is filled by a characteristic vegetation of the region. The lagoon and its entire watershed is a good option for those interested in discovering some rarities, to become a place that can observe and photograph some species of resident birds, highlighting the aerial spectacle of the snakes during the breeding season.
